Anchor recognizes Young Achievers across the island

Colombo, October 2011: Anchor, Fonterra’s flagship brand, recently launched a quest to find Achievers across the island through the Anchor Achievers Challenge. The challenge explores various aspects of children’s mental and physical abilities, with the aim of inspiring children to be the best they can be and celebrate the “achiever” in each and every child.

Children across Sri Lanka are invited to participate in activities, where they will have an opportunity to display their talents, skills and achievements and simply celebrate their childhood.

Achyut Kasireddy, Managing Director, Fonterra Brands Lanka said, “Children are the future of the country. We believe every mother’s wish is to provide the best for their child and allow them to excel in society; with this challenge we hope to allow children to shine and showcase their abilities. The Achievers Challenge seeks to build the self confidence of all participants. It will also provide a unique experience for both kids and parents through combining entertainment and education.”

The Anchor Achievers Challenges will be held in Galle, Kandy, Kurunegala, Anuradapura, Gampaha and Kalutara districts. Activities at the events will include novel and interesting challenges for kids to participate in. Educational seminars for parents around the importance of proper nutrition and how to encourage children to be the best they can be, will also be conducted by leading nutritionists and psychologists.

Anchor has supported Sri Lankan mothers in their pursuit of providing children with the best nourishment for holistic growth and development, by consistently delivering the gold standard in nutrition for nearly three decades. With the achievers challenge, Anchor continues to partner with mothers to ensure that proper nutrition and encouragement bring out the achiever in every child.
