Abducted book shop owner released - Police

The owner of a book shop who was abducted by a group of unidentified persons who had arrived in a white van, has been released by his captors, Police said today.

 

 

The abducted businessman’s wife had lodged a complaint with the Mirihana Police on November 12.

 

 

Mirihana Police today stated that the book shop owner E.N. Chaminda Thushara Bandara was found last night with his hands and feet bound, blindfolded near a road in Kelanimulla. A statement was recorded from the victim and sent for treatment, police said.

 

 

On November 12, the book shop owner, Thushara Bandara who had closed the sales centre near Jubilee Post junction in Nugegoda at around 8.30 pm was about to go home when he had been abducted.
