Urgent mail could be collected – Ministry

The Postal Services Ministry said that those who have important mail pending could collect them by producing their identification at the Colombo Central Postal Exchange. Today the Postal trade union coalition decided to end the postal strike after discussions with the Minister of Postal Services Jeewan Kumaratunga. 

 

However it is reported that around 1,600,000 letters and registered mail had piled up at the Colombo Central Postal Exchange as a result of the trade union action which ended today.
