VIDEO: Thilanga Sumathipala to contest SLC elections

Parliamentarian Thilanga Sumathipala confirmed to Ada Derana today that he will contest the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) elections scheduled for January 3, 2012.
A former President of the SLC, Sumathipala will be contesting the election, being held after 7 years, against the only other candidate Upali Dharmadasa.
Thilanga was the President of the SLC, then the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka, from 1997–1998, 2000–2001 and 2003-2004.
The Sri Lanka Cricket interim committee was dissolved on November 14 by Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage. The SLC election was originally slated to be held on December 27, however was postponed to January 3, 2012 due to sports laws.
