153 motorists charged for breaking laws on expressway

Police has charged 153 motorists so far for violating highway traffic rules in the southern expressway since its opening. A total of 15 accidents had occurred in the country’s first expressway within that time period, police media spokesman SP Ajith Rohana said.

Meanwhile charges have also been filed against a pedestrian for walking along the southern expressway, which is prohibited.

Ajith Rohana added that the law will be strictly implemented against motorists violating traffic laws in the southern expressway.
