Postal trade union coalition today stated that it will launch trade union action again due to the authorities not delivering the promises made to them. President of the Ceylon Postal Services Union, Jayantha Wijesinghe speaking to Ada Derana said that the union action would begin with a sick leave campaign and move into protests.
He added that they abandoned the earlier strike based on several promises including sacking the current Post Master General and other issues with regard to the Postal Department. We were promised that these issues would be rectified within a month, he stated.
