Victoria MP welcomes LLRC report

Victoria Member of Parliament, Telmo Languiller today commended the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) report which he says will set the framework for practical reconciliation in Sri Lanka.

Expressing his delighted to be back in “peaceful” Sri Lanka the Derrimut Labor MP said he was impressed with the construction of Sri Lanka - Victoria Trauma centre in Galle, which is funded by the Victorian labor government.

“I welcome the LLRC report. I further welcome the responds by the leader of the house in relation to the LLRC report.

Both the LLRC report and the government respond provide a very good opportunity for this nation to build a peaceful Sri Lanka. It sets the frame work for practical reconciliation” he told media at a press conference held at the Jaic Hilton in Colombo.

“I’ll be encouraging the Australian government and my parliamentary colleagues to continue to work positively with the authorities in Sri Lanka and its people.”

“I take this opportunity to commend the expat community in Australia for their work and commitment to the process of the rebuilding post war Sri Lanka” the Parliamentarian said.
