January 7, 2012   04:46 pm

A court has ordered the students within the premises of Saliyapura Faculty of Medicine of the Rajarata University to vacate the area before 4pm today (Jan 07).

If the students do not leave the premises, according to the court order, police will use minimum force to remove them, the Vice Chancellor of the university said.

However, so far the students have shown no signs of abiding the court directive and vacating the area, Vice Chancellor of the Rajarata University Professor K.A. Nandasena stated.

He further elaborated that a group of senior students are holding several first year students “against their will” within the Medical Faculty premises.
