The Sri Lankan government donated a sum of US $50,000 to the people of Philippines who were affected by heavy floods. The donation was handed over to the Philippines Foreign Minister Albert F. Del Rosario by the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Philippines Benet Cooray.
The floods that occurred in December last year claimed 1080 lives in the Philippines while 338,000 people were affected and 10,000 homes were damaged.
