All Ceylon Railway General Employees’ Union warns that the government will have to face more strike actions in the future if it continues to “deceive” railway workers.
The General Secretary of the union, Sumathipala Manawadu in a release today cited that reason for the sudden strike on Wednesday (01) was due to the government employing various methods to prevent launching of strikes.
The government and certain individuals who brand railway workers as “traitors” on such occasions do not take a stand for the public on other occasions, he said.
Warning that they may have to resort to strike action in the future as well, the All Ceylon Railway General Employees’ Union pointed out that the government has taken no steps to resolve the issues of railway employees for nearly 8 years.
