Two die and two injured after trishaw crashes into lorry

Two persons were killed when a trishaw crashed into a stationary lorry on the Maradankadawala-Habarana road in Kekirawa, police stated. Two other were critically injured and were rushed to hospital for treatment.

 

The incident took place today (February 5) at 4am. The driver and three passengers in the trishaw were rushed to hospital following the accident while the 22 year old driver succumbed to his injuries at the Kekirawa hospital.

 

The other three were then taken to the Anuradhapura hospital for further treatment where one of the passengers, aged 32 had also succumbed to his injuries.

 

The Kekirawa police stated that further investigations will be conducted into the incident.
