
The National Drug Regulatory Authority is to take legal action against 12 pharmacies in the Anuradhapura District following raids carried out in the past several days by its officers.
The Chairman of the National Drugs Authority Dr. Hemantha Benaragama stated that out of the 30 pharmacies inspected, they were able to identify 12 which were operating without license, below required standards and without a pharmacist.
He further stated that improperly stored stocks of medicinal drugs amounting to over Rs. 1.5 million and a lorry stored with drugs were seized by the officers.
