Former UPFA Pradeshiya Sabha candidate remanded

A Kolonnawa Pradeshiya Sabha UPFA candidate who lost at the local government elections along with another person were ordered to be kept in remand until March 1 by the Gangodawila Magistrate Court today (February 21).

 

The two suspects were caught in possession of over Rs.5 million worth of electronic goods by the Kohuwala Police.

 

Police stated that an 18 year old youth was apprehended after stealing a cellular phone from a shop in Kohuwala after which the youth had confessed to being part of a larger racket.

 

The main suspect in the racket is Ranjith Priyadarshana who contested under the UPFA ticket at the recent local government election.
