University non-academic staff on 48-hour strike

The University Non-Academic Staff will engage in a 48-hour strike today (February 23) and tomorrow demanding an end to salary disparities.

 

The strike will continue indefinitely if their demands are not met, the President of the Inter-University Trade Union Federation, R.M. Chandrapala stated.

 

He added that the Federation had no intention of undermining student activities within the universities but that this course of action was one that must be taken.
