After giving the middle finger to the Super Bowl, now M.I.A. is giving it to Anderson Cooper. The Bad Girls rapper took to her Twitter account to slam the CNN news anchor for the lack of coverage about the slaughter of Tamil civilians in Sri Lanka, where Maya’s family is from.
“@AndersonCooper called me a terrorist for speaking out , and expressed support for the SLgov when this was happening”, M.I.A. tweeted.
The talk show host wasted no time in responding, tweeting “you are mistaken. I never called you a terrorist. I don’t know who you are other than the lady who sang at the Superbowl”.
At the end of the day, the feud ended up with the “Paper Planes” singer inviting Cooper to watch Killing Fields, a television special that discusses the war between the Sri Lankan government and the rebel forces of the Tamil Tigers.
“@andersoncooper im glad u understand but please watch #killingfields because this is what i was trying to say” wrote M.I.A, thesilvertongueonline reports.
