The voting and discussion on the US sponsored resolution on Sri Lanka will take place on March 23 in the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, media sources said.

The 19th session of the Council concludes on 23 March, 2012 and the vote will take place just prior to the end of the Sessions.

So far several western nations such as US and Norway have voiced strong support to the resolution while India is yet to make a decision on the matter.

However the Center is continuesly being pressured Tamil Nadu parties to vote against Sri Lanka and support the resolution, seeking the implementation of the LLRC’s recommendations.
