The United National Party today said it was willing to assist the government in convincing the Tamil National Alliance to join Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) discussions.

UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake called on the government, if its working directly with honest intentions, to commence an appropriate process for the implementation of the recommendations of the LLRC report, together with the opposition.

If that is done, the UNP is prepared to assist in guiding the TNA towards participating in Parliamentary Select Committee discussions, he told media at a press conference.

He pointed out that the UNP has the ability to take every necessary step for gaining everyones assistance as an opposition.

Attanayake requested from the government to protect its honesty and credibility for this purpose. (AdaDerana)
