Two arrested for impersonating narcotics officers

Kohuwala Police has arrested two individuals for impersonating Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) officers and stealing valuable items.

Police spokesman SP Ajith Rohana stated that the suspects, who were apprehended in a raid last night, impersonating police narcotics officers had searched several individuals and stolen their personal belongings.

Such incident had been reported from Piliyandala, Dehiwala and Kohuwala areas, he said.

The police spokesman further adviseed the public to check the identification of any persons wanting to carry out searches or inspection claiming to be Narcotics or CID officers and to contact the nearest police station or 119 hotline if any suspicion arises. (AdaDerana)
