Two cases of swine flu detected at the Angoda mental institute

Two employees of Ward 09 at the Angoda National Institute of Mental Health have been diagnosed with the influenza AH1N1 virus also known as swine flu.

 

The ward was closed temporarily a few days back when a group of workers were suddenly stricken with illness.

 

Director of the Epidemiology Unit, Dr. Paba Palihawadana stated that in the tests it had been uncovered that two of the employees had contracted the AH1N1 virus.

 

She also stated that virus operates as a normal virus and that the public need not be unduly concerned about these cases.
