No discussions will be held until the University Non-academic Employees call off the protest that they are currently engaged in, Minister of Higher Education S.B. Dissanayake stated while requesting the non-academic employees to report to work.

Speaking at a press conference held today (June 7), the Minister said that the salaries of employees in government corporations and departments are determined by the National Salary Commission while neither the Education Minister or the Education Department can get involved in that matter.

He added that this protest cannot go on any further while requesting the employees to report to work.
