Strong winds cause boat to capsize on River; One man missing

A person was washed away while fishing on a boat in the Madu River in the Balapitiya area of Ahungalla, police stated.

 

Police stated that strong winds in the area had resulted in the boat capsizing while the man subsequently went missing in the River.

 

The victim was a 70 year old resident of the Balapitiya area while police have begun search operations to find the missing man.
