A vehicle traveling towards Colombo from Galle on the Southern Expressway was completely destroyed by flames at Gelanigama near the 12.6 Mile Post, police said.
However, the two passengers of the van had reportedly escaped unharmed.
Police spokesman’s office stated that the fire, which erupted at around 6.20 a.m. today morning, was caused by an electrical short and that however an investigation will be carried out.
