CEB Unions to take trade union action from Aug 10 onwards

The Ceylon Electricity Board Joint Trade Union Federation stated that it was ready to engage in continuous trade union action from August 10 after the CEB allegedly failed to keep promises made to the workers.

 

Ranjan Jayalal, a member of the trade union federation stated that all the CEB unions will join in the protests together.

 

He stated that the CEB had still not delivered on promises made following the trade union protests that began at 12 noon on July 6 while adding that CEB authorities had taken revenge on its workers.

 

Therefore, Jayalal stated that the trade unions will engage in continuous trade union action from 12 noon on August 10.
