August 27, 2012   03:24 pm

Education minister Bandula Gunawardana has written to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) requesting an inquiry into an alleged conspiracy to tarnish the people’s trust in the education sector.

He claims that the statements from certain individuals and teachers’ unions are spreading ‘false’ information that there were shortcomings and errors in the exams held recently by the Department of Examinations and results released.

The letter further stated that it was the result of both a local and foreign conspiracy to bring down the country’s education sector.
