Welgama unhappy with VIP vehicles on roads

Transport minister Kumara Welgama stated that the manner in which vehicles of VIPs and their security detail, are driven on roads poses a threat to other vehicles and passengers.

He stated that it was regrettable that certain VIP vehicles were not obeying the traffic rules, and that police officers who attempt to enforce the law against them are also pressured.

He further stated that using the mobile phones while driving poses a threat to the passengers and the other vehicles on the road.
