A person was shot and injured by police in the Lower Kadawala area in Ambalantota after a group of people attacked a police team that were inquiring about a complaint that had been made.

 

The police had received a complaint and had arrived in the area to inquire after it when the gang attacked them. One of the assailants had tried to grab a police officer’s weapon when it had fired and injured the man.

 

The person was taken to the Hambantota hospital, an Ada Derana correspondent reported.
