VIDEO: Five drown after boat capsizes in Beruwala

Five persons drowned after a boat carrying visitors to the lighthouse in Beruwala capsized in the sea this evening.

The five victims include one female, police spokesman SP Ajith Rohana said.

The boat had capsized when they were returning after visiting the lighthouse.

Four of the five victims are said to be senior officials of the Sanasa Bank in Thalangama South, Battaramulla.

The remaining passengers of the boat have survived the incident.
