Lankan caught smuggling gold biscuits at Bengaluru

A 65-year-old Sri Lankan passport holder was caught with 1.17 kg of gold biscuits, worth Rs 50 lakh, stashed away in his rectum.

 

Mohammad Hassan Nizamuddin was boarding a Dubai-bound flight at Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) on Tuesday evening.

 

Based on a tip-off , customs commissioner Sandeep Prakash gave instructions to detain Mohammed Hassan Nizamuddin before he boarded the aircraft around 4pm.

 

He had to be administered laxatives to help officials retrieve 15 gold biscuits worth Rs 50 lakh. (TNN)
