Public Relations and Public Affairs Minister Mervin Silva stated that the intellectuals are this country’s blessing and not to drag them to the street, referring to them as ‘our oxygen’.
The minister also questioned as to how the government’s actions are wrong when the president ended a thirty year old war.
The minister also stated that the people, who used to live with the devil, are now living freely thanks to the president. He inquired that if the displaced people are being resettled, and if the North and East are undergoing massive developments, under Minister Basil Rajapakse, and if the country is secure under Defense Minister Gotabaya Rakapakse then what is the wrong being done by the president.
The minister made these statements when laying the foundation stone for a house in Peliyagoda, being built for a family that resided at the Ja-Ela Cemetery today (10).
