LG elections amendment draft bills passed

The Local Authorities Special Provisions Bill and the Local Authorities Election Amendment Bill were passed in parliament a short while ago. The new bills will completely abolish the preferential system and introduce a mixed system.
With that the electorate method will take 70%, ratio method will take 30% to select representatives.
