Nishantha Fernando becomes World Carrom Champion

Nishantha Fernando of Sri Lanka became the World Carrom Champion in the singles event at the 6th World Carrom Championship held in Colombo.

Fernando beat C. Bharathi Dhasan of India 2-0 in the final.

Sri Lanka is hosting the 6th World Carrom Championship which commenced on October 31 and ends today (November 4) at Galadari Hotel with 80 slicers from 16 nations participating.

Indian men yesterday beat defending champions Sri Lanka 3-0 in the team championship finals.

Sri Lankan men were captained by Nishantha Fernando.
