Two more nabbed over Mirihana gang rape

Two more suspects have been arrested over the rape of a 47-year-old woman near a well at the Vijerama Temple Mawatha in Nugegoda, police said.

Mirihana police following information received on the 119 hotline in connection with the rape incident, had previously arrest two suspects and also take into custody two three-wheelers on January 23.

They were produced before the Gangodawila Magistrate and remanded till February 06.

Following further investigations two more suspects, resident of Nugegoda and Gangodawila, were apprehended yesterday (29), police said.

The suspects are scheduled to be produced before court today.
