Patrick Denipitiya passes away

Legendary Sri Lankan Music Director and composer Patrick Denipitiya passed away in Canada this morning due to an illness.
Denipitiya, who famously introduced the Hawaiian guitar to the country’s music scene decades ago, was the Music Director in many Sri Lankan films such as Sanakeliya in 1974.
He is the father of famous musician Mahesh Denipitiya.
Patrick and his wife Celcie resided in Brampton Ontario, Canada.
