VIDEO: Azath Salley refusing food, medicine - hospital

Former member of the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC), Azath Salley who has been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital is refusing food and medication, a spokesman for the hospital said.

However, the condition of Mr Salley is now normal, Deputy Director of the National Hospital Dr. Siril de Silva said.

The former Deputy Mayor of Colombo and Muslim Tamil National Alliance leader was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department on May 2nd, 2013.

He was hospitalized yesterday after reportedly staging a hunger strike while in detention.
