
Several rugby referees have received bans by the Executive Committee of Rugby Referees in view of several poor decisions made by them during inter-school rugby matches.
Pradeep Fernando, who served as the chief referee for the highly contentious rugby match between Royal College and Isipathana College was banned from refereeing for a year following a string of poor decisions during that game.
Two Line Referees, Dimitri Gunasekera and Mahesh Senanayake who also refereed the game were banned for one month.
Meanwhile, Gamini Indrasena who was referee for the rugby match between St. Peter’s College and Science College was also banned by the Executive Committee for a period of two weeks.
