Speaking exclusively to Ada Derana UPFA MP Arundika Fernando stated today (June 11) that Prageeth Eknaligoda’s wife was trying to gain political mileage through her husband’s disappearance.

UPFA MP for the Puttalam District, Arundika Fernando stated in parliament on June 5 that missing journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda was currently living in France.

Responding to the opposition MPs who questioned the government regarding the media and Eknaligoda the UPFA MP stated that the Lankans in France were also aware that Eknaligoda was living there.

Speaking to media earlier, Sandhya Eknaligoda challenged MP Arundika Fernando to step forward and debate her regarding his recent statement in parliament.

Responding to this MP Fernando said that when one hears news or information regarding a missing loved one, they should first engage in using that information to search for the missing person and not engage in debates.

The United National Party (UNP) called for the questioning of UPFA MP Arundika Fernando, regarding his statement on the whereabouts of missing journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda, and requested the government to carry out its duty by obtaining information of the matter.
