The National Freedom Front (NFF) today accused the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress of assisting separatists and blamed the its leader Minister Rauf Hakeem for turning the party into the “tail” of the Tamil National Alliance and doing its bidding.

NFF spokesman Mohammed Muzammil stated that the TNA’s “nudity” is clear to everyone today and that the Tamil party itself has admitted to cooperating with the LTTE terrorist organization and supporting the Eelam cause.

However, he said the problem existing today is that the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC), whose founding leader Mohammed Ashraff was against the amalgamation of provinces, is complexly backing the 13th Amendment.

He termed this as the SLMC accepting the task of giving a helping hand to separatists.

Muzammil accsued incumbent SLMC leader and Justice Minister Rauf Hakeem of completely forgetting the history of Mohammed Ashraff and turning the Muslim Congress into the tail of the TNA to do its bidding.

He stated that Rauf Hakeem, through contradicting Ashraf, has proven that he is for separatism.

The former MP further said that the reason the UNP, JVP and TNA have opted out of the Parliamentary Select Committee, appointed to look into constitutional changes, was so that they can put the full responsibility on the government  and save their selves.
