VIDEO: Actions of a few discrediting the entire army – Mangala

The United National Party today charged that the ruling government is launching its acts of “terrorism” across the nation not only through politicians affiliated to them, but also though a selected group of police and army personnel.

UNP MP Mangala Samaraweera claims that the government has selected certain groups from the country’s military and police force to carry out what he called as “Rajapakshika” terrorism.

He stated that the entire country witnessed the terrorism unleashed by a selected group of army personnel during the recent Weliweriya incident.

He alleged that it was these “Rajapakshika terrorists” who fired shots and attacked residents of Rathupaswala who demanded clean drinking water.

Stating that another issue has now surfaced in Weliweriya, the parliamentarian claimed certain military officers are arresting residents in the area who had witnessed certain acts of violence.

The “hunt” for innocent people in Weliweriya has still not finished, Samaraweera said.

The MP said he is not blaming the entire police or the entire army but only the few who cannot safeguard the respect of the uniform they wear.

He said that country is cursing the entire army due to the actions of a few.
