The Campaign for Free and Fair Elections (CaFFE) says it has observed certain Kurunegala Police officers removing a certain UPFA candidate’s election posters and replacing them with the posters of another UPFA candidate.

The election monitoring group says it has submitted a complaint to the Elections Commissioner regarding the incidents with photographic evidence.

CaFFE says the photographs show police officers in uniform carrying firearms efficiently removing a large number of posters of former MP Dayasiri Jayasekara near the Wariyapola Town on the Kurunegala-Puttalam road on Friday (13).

CaFFE claims that the police officers, also holding a roll of posters and a bucket of glue paste, then proceeded to paste the election posters of Johan Fernando, son of Minister Johnston Fernando, in the same locations.
