Sub-inspector arrested on bribery charge

A Sub-Inspector (SI) of the Payagala Police Station has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegation of Bribery or Corruption today on charges of soliciting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
The Sub-Inspector was arrested this afternoon while accepting the bribe of Rs 10,000 in exchange for releasing a three-wheeler involved in an accident, before it was released by court, the Police Spokesman said.
