Coordinating Secretary of Deputy Minister dies after consuming poison

The Coordinating Secretary
of the Deputy Minister of Coconut Development and Janatha Estate Development died
today (February 27) after consuming poison at his residence.
Gamini Ranasinghe, aged
52 years, is a resident of the Serukale area in Anamaduwa. Last evening, he
consumed poison at his home and was rushed to the Chilaw hospital.
He subsequently died in
hospital this afternoon (February 27) while the reason for his suicide has not
yet been uncovered.
