UNP Provincial Councilor Sanjeewa Kaviratne passes away

UNP Central Provincial Council member Sanjeewa Kaviratne has passed away at the age of 44. 

The Provincial Councilor died after being admitted to the Kandy (Teaching) Hospital today due to a sudden illness, hospital sources confirmed. 

Kaviratne is the son of former UNP Deputy Minister P. B. Kaviratne. 

A Member of Parliament for a short period, Kaviratne was elected to the Central Provincial Council from the Matale district at the PC polls last year.

He was married to Rohini Kumari Kaviratne, the daughter of former UNP Minister Wijeratne Banda.
