Mahawa PS member among 7 held for illicit gambling

Seven suspects including a member of the Mahawa Pradeshiya Sabha has been arrested for engaging in illicit gambling at a residence Daladagama, Mahawa today. 

Police said that currency amounting to several thousands of rupees found in the possession of the suspects, all residents of Mahawa, have also been taken into custody.

The arrested suspects have been released on police bail while they are to be produced at the Mahawa Magistrate’s Court on March 26.
