Hakeem-BBS conflict created at Temple Trees - UNP

The conflict of opinions between SLMC leader Rauf Hakeem and the Bodu Bala Sena organization is a “tele drama” which was created at Temple Trees (the Office of the President), says UNP Parliamentarian Kabeer Hashim.

The Minister of Justice had recently angrily responded to criticisms made the Buddhist nationalist group, which had accused the Muslim party of betraying the country by allegedly secretly submitting a report to UN human rights council.

Speaking at a press conference in Colombo today, Mr Hashim claimed that the current situation which has risen between the two parties is a complete farce which is being enacted.

The Kegalle District MP and UNP Leadership Council member stated that Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) leader Rauf Hakeem is criticizing the government while still remaining in the government and that this only takes place during the election period.

Kabeer Hashim stated that Minister Hakeem had entered Parliament through the United National Party and that he should actually be in the opposition.
