Malinga to lead Sri Lanka after Chandimal ban

March 28, 2014   05:45 pm

Dinesh Chandimal was handed a one-game suspension for slow over rate in Sri Lanka’s defeat against England in a Group 1 Super10s game in the T20 WC on Thursday.

In Chandimal’s absence, pacer Lasith Malinga will lead the side against New Zealand on Monday in their last group game.

Sri Lanka are currently on top of Group 2, having won two games and lost one. They are tied with South Africa on four points but are ahead in the table by virtue of a better net run rate.
