Tea pluckers hospitalised after wasp attack

A group of over 20 tea pluckers have been attacked by a swarm of wasps in the Dikoya-Menikwatta area in Hatton today while 8 women have been admitted to the Dikoya Base Hospital with injuries following the incident.
The victims say that the attack occurred after a wasp nest located on a tree at the center of the tea estate had been accidentally disrupted.
However, it has been reported that none of the hospitalized women are in critical condition.
