Two arrested for assaulting Buddhist monks

Two suspects have been arrested for allegedly assaulting 2 Buddhist monks at the Aralaganwila Siripalena Temple in Polonnaruwa, police said.

The assault was carried out at around 10.00pm last night while the monks have been admitted to the Aralaganwila Hospital for treatment.

The arrested suspects are to be produced at the Polonnaruwa Magistrate’s Court today, the Police Spokesman’s Office said.
