Major General Janaka Perera’s murder- ex-LTTE carder pleads guilty

An ex-LTTE carder has pleaded guilty to the murder of 29 persons including Major General Janaka Perera in 2008 at the Anuradhapura Magistrate’s Court, today.

The confession was made when the case was taken up for hearing before High Court Judge Sunanda Kumara.

The judgment of the accused will be delivered on 5 September. Major General Perera and 28 others were killed in a suicide bomb blast in Anuradhapura at a function organized by the United National Party (UNP) on 6 October, 2008.
