Lankan murdered in Tamil Nadu

A Sri Lankan Tamil was murdered in front of his house at Karumandapam area in Tamil Nadu. The victim, S. Selvendran (59), running a travel agency, had returned home in a two-wheeler when unknown persons stabbed him.

Upon hearing Selvendran scream, his wife S. Premakumari (53) rushed out of their house in Selva Nagar and found him with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to the Mahatma Gandhi Government Hospital where he was declared dead.

Selvendran and his wife landed in India from Sri Lanka in 1990 as refugees, police sources said. The Sessions Court police have registered a case. The identity of the accused is being investigated, the Hindu reports.
