SL Navy Commander meets US Naval Ops Chief

The Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera met the Chief of Naval Operations of the US Navy, Admiral Jonathan W. Greenert during his official visit to the United States of America. He is attending the 21st International Seapower Symposium (ISS), which is being held at the United States Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island.

The biennial symposium this year is held under the theme, Global Solutions to Common Maritime Challenges. It provides a forum in which naval leaders can discuss issues of mutual interests and concerns.

During the proceedings of the symposium hosted by the Chief of Naval Operations of the US Navy, the Commander of the Navy was able to meet a number of naval chiefs from the region as well as across the globe and hold cordial discussions, sharing perspectives on common interests.
